18 weeks and 4 days pregnant!

This pregnancy is seriously flying by. In 2 weeks I’m going to be half way there! omg…

I had a midwife appointment 2 days ago! Wasn’t my usual midwife as she was called on to labour ward 🙂
She listened to the heartbeat and found it straight away, she said that baby is moving around lots! Which is so weird because I can’t feel it moving at all! She said that baby seems to be growing fine which is good 🙂

I think my hormones are everywhere at the moment. One minute I’m okay and the next I turn into a huge wreck that becomes depressed for hours haha. I think that the things going on with me at the moment have a big part to play in that also, but when doesn’t peoples life problems interfere. Im sure everyone goes through their own tough times 🙂

Next scan is 16th August then we will know if bump here is pink or blue (stereotypically;))

I haven’t felt baby move yet.. Ive felt slight pops or whatever but I can’t really say yeah thats the baby move. People have told me I’d know for sure and I haven’t had that feeling yet 🙂 Anyways, here’s my belly at 18 weeks 😀

Some days it seems bigger than it does on others I’m not sure if it depends on what time of the day it is! It looks pretty big here but it does go down slightly;) I’m not sure if how baby is laid can affect the size also 🙂

As for stretch marks I haven’t had any come up on my stomach! Woo. So I’m hoping the lotion I am using is doing its job 😀

17 week update & UK Heatwave?!

After working all this week through this hot weather, I can honestly say that I am glad I am not going to be heavily pregnant throughout the summer! (This time around anyway;)) Most people believe that because I work in a nursery I am able to take the children out all day and ‘sunbathe’ that is not the case. It is too hot for them so we had to stay indoors.

I know I am only 17 weeks pregnant, but I have never ever felt the humidity as much as I have this year! It was horrible – I am a great lover of the sun and would never wish it away, But my car said 38 degrees celsius at one point! In the UK?! I mean come on!

I went to my Obstetrics appointment yesterday! After waiting in the waiting room for an hour over my appointment (they were running behind) the specialist was a little confused as to why I had been referred. She said my BMI isn’t that low, she asked me how I felt etc. Took my blood pressure which apparently is all good 🙂 and she managed to find baby’s heartbeat 🙂 I can’t believe how fast it beats!

I still have a tiny bump! its not as big as some people I knew when they were 2 months pregnant. I think one morning I’m going to wake up looking huge and wonder where on earth it came from! 😉 As for the dreams, I am still having them. I’m seeing my midwife next week, so I’m going to mention it to her. I can’t even remember what I am dreaming about now. I just wake up with a horrible feeling and tears streaming down my face!

Debating whether to make the announcement on my social media, I am so anxious. I don’t want to feel alone and become an emotional wreck again. I’m sure I won’t.. But I’m worried that I will. I’m more worried about what my ex’s family will think.

Terrible Dreams….?!

Did anyone else get nightmares or just horrible dreams during pregnancy? I’m not even sure if its pregnancy related or maybe something else.

For a good few weeks now I’ve been hating going to sleep. I fall asleep as usual, then I can wake myself up crying at any point during the night, either that or I don’t wake up at all and a member of my family ask me the next morning whats going on because they heard me in the night. Some days I can remember pretty clearly what the dream was about. Most of the time its about situations that may have happened in the past, but other times its situations that have never happened before and its horrible.

I have a midwife appointment on the 28th so, 11 days time. I don’t know whether its worth mentioning that to her? But then I think, what if she just says its normal and I have to go through these dreams for the rest of my pregnancy! Its not exactly pleasant.

I’m going through quite a bit of confusion about various different things recently. I know everything isn’t exactly flowers and roses in life, but there always has to be a catch or some form of confusion! Can anyone relate? I’d be happy to exchange a listening ear with anyone 🙂

16 weeks aaaaand 2 days!

Still so far so good with the no stretch mark aim! Im starting to bump a little bit more now people are beginning to tell. Even though everyone is saying that I’m still tiny! to me, I feel huge! I’m so not used to having a bump 😛

Like I said before, I’ve been using the Palmers Cocoa Butter Massage Lotion for Stretch Marks. I love the smell of the cream! The only thing I don’t like about this Lotion is that its greasy and its sticky. My top practically sticks to my stomach after putting this on!

I’m beginning to notice a few changes over the past 2 weeks, which I won’t write about here because I know different people who will read this, tad awkward.

I have my obstetrics (is that how you spell it?!) appointment next week! apparently I have to go to this because I have a low BMI. Not sure what type of things he’s going to test for and more importantly, how he’s going to test it! Oh god.. ha!

I bought a heart beat doppler from Mothercare and I also bought my first pair of little white socks eek! but going back to the doppler, I can’t seem to find my baby’s heartbeat with it! Maybe its too early? I found my own – which is always good 😉 I will try again in a few weeks 🙂

Bump at 16 weeks 2 days 🙂

Haven’t posted in a few days..

Thought I’d make a post as I haven’t really written anything in a few days, today is Saturday 9th July, on Thursday I got sent home from work with pains on the left side of my stomach. It scared me a little because when I was around 7 weeks pregnant the same thing happened but a lot lot worse, I got taken into hospital because they thought I may have had an ectopic pregnancy. Thank God that I didn’t. It was just a severe water infection.

I think I may have done too much Thursday morning because I was fine by Friday. I think being on my feet all day, picking up toys from the floor constantly, doing nappy rounds and pushing (child-sized) tables around probably isn’t the best of things to do. I’m not the type of person to just give up easily when it comes to work but my manager basically sent me home, she is around 6 months pregnant herself! Maybe I just had some form of uterus pain. Im not sure where abouts your uterus is though?

Feel so tired today! Met up with a friend and we walked my dog up in the woods before going for some lunch and a yummy dessert at a dessert parlour 😛 We must have been walking for around an hour. I enjoy walking up there, its peaceful and the dog loves it, but I was glad to get back to the car 🙂

Has anyone ever been pregnant and not had any cravings? I’ve not been craving the same thing constantly for weeks. I’ll just see something and then fancy it. I have been drinking quite a bit of lemonade this week, I wonder what it will be next week.. haha! I’m worrying myself about whether I should post my news on social media. Because obviously, my situation isn’t the standard lovey dovey pregnancy. My ex boyfriend and his family will see the post and I don’t want to cause dramas because I’m still hurting from our breakup. I would never ever call my baby a mistake. I’m blessed to have my baby, I’m just scared to let the love of my life find out. Is that bad??
This is the only place I’m writing about my pregnancy, its good to be able to get everything out into a blog because it’s also a great memoir!

Sorry this post has been all over the place, I just wanted to write about a few things that are on my mind 🙂

Meet sock monkey Harry!

A child I work with came into nursery with this sock monkey and oh my gosh it was the cutest thing I had ever seen. The child in me came out and I asked her mum where she got it from! She told me it was from a Facebook page. So I searched for ‘Sock monkey’ on Facebook for quite a while until I came across Sock Monkey UK. Find the page here: https://www.facebook.com/sockmonkeyuk.hants/?fref=nf

It is ran by a lady called Allison Kiln. They are the cutest things I have ever seen, there are plenty more sock monkey websites on the internet but I couldn’t find any that looked nearly as cute! I came across this page about 2 days ago to realise that on the 20th June she wrote a post to say she’s stopping the business due to her daughter going in and out of hospital which is totally understandable! I was a little bit gutted until I decided to look on her Etsy shop anyway, where she was selling (I believe there are some still available) ones that she had already made rather than custom made.

Thats where I found Harry. He’s a cute yellow and maroon coloured stripy monkey! I got him for half price, the day after I ordered it he was already out to ship! I got him this morning – was such a quick delivery 🙂

You can also get mini sock monkeys etc! and other sock animals 🙂 Allison said on the Facebook page that she might be re-opening closer to christmas so if that is the case then this baby is going to have so many sock monkeys! I am a little bit obsessed with them. I even saw ones with the baby’s name, weight, DOB. etc on the foot of the animal or a personalised one holding a blanket with the baby’s name on. Cuteness overload!

Here is a picture of Harry 😀

I love that he is also great for either a girl or a boy so I know I will definitely use him 🙂 I just can’t get over how cute they are! I think he was originally priced at £12? but using a promo code I got him for £6 something. So including delivery he didn’t even cost me £10! Great quality, amazing delivery. Overall 5 stars 🙂

Thank you Allison 🙂

Stretch Mark Creams?

A Couple of days ago I bought some stretch mark cream.. I haven’t actually got any yet, but I’m trying to see if using stretch mark cream before hand will help to minimise them! I looked at a couple in the store and wasn’t sure on which one was best because there were so many that seemed to do the same thing.

In the end I got the Palmer’s cocoa butter formula (massage lotion) as I previously read that cocoa butter was meant to be pretty good for the skin. This contains Bio C-Elaste so hopefully this will work some magic on my skin 🙂

This one also says on the back that it is also good to continue to use after pregnancy. I got this one (250ml) from Superdrug for £3.99 but it is currently on sale for £2.65.

I have only used this product once or twice at the moment, but it has a lovely smell to it. The only thing I don’t like about it at the moment is that it is very greasy and sticky.

Today I saw another in Mothercare, by Bepanthen. I have previously used Bepanthen cream when I got my tattoos done and it worked wonders on them. But it was pretty pricey! Around £14 if I remember correctly.

I will write another post on this product when I have used it for a bit longer and I am beginning to get bigger!
